Why didn't Jon Snow become king in Game Of Thrones?

Jon doesn’t want it. This one is too obvious but it makes sense to not force the job on someone when he has tried to avoid it for so long.Jon didn’t seem too excited about being a Targaryen. Even though he got to ride a dragon and found out that his real name is Aegon, he was never, ever interested in being called Aegon. He wanted to remain Jon. And perhaps Snow. He’s been Jon Snow all his life and being Aegon Targaryen is just not something he wanted to wrap his head around. Taking up the kingship would first require him to take up his name. He seemed least interested in any of it.It would be very hard to explain to all the other lords. Making Jon king would bring in an additional criteria fulfilment to prove his parentage and all that.. and it would just be a hassle more than a factor for unity.
Making Jon king would not be well received. The last two Targaryens that the people have seen are Aerys and Daenerys and neither of them left a good taste in the mouth of the people. Targaryens, especially in the light of recent events with Dany, are not very popular. Staking Jon’s claim on the basis of him being a Targ could actually backfire, especially in the case of people who don’t know him. Then there would be those who would question Jon’s legitimacy by pointing out that he was meant to be a brother of the Night’s Watch. Jon being king is just going to have to overcome a lot of hurdles, which might not be worth it. Because even if Jon managed to get his ass up there, he would always need to keep an eye out for those one or two lords who’d still have questions. Not a risk worth taking. Out of story reason — it would be clichĂ©. One thing the finale got right was not having Jon sit on the throne. Having him return back to the North just reestablished his identity as a Stark and a Northerner. He may not have Ned Stark’s name, but he has the blood of the North. It’s a nice touch.
